One Room Schoolhouse

Sold

I was painting at the Tall Grass National Preserve and stumbled upon this one room schoolhouse. Later I learned it was the Lower Fox Creek Schoolhouse built in 1882 on the historic property commonly referred to as the Z Bar Ranch. It served as a school until 1930. The average enrollment was around 15. It was created from limestone quarried just north of Strong City, Kansas.
